How do I get an account?
If you have a contractual relationship with the university, your account will be created automatically at the start of your contract. You only need to activate it with your ZIM PIN.
Receiving your ZIM PIN:
New employees usually receive their ZIM PIN when they sign their contract in the employment department.
Employees who do not turn up in person to sign their contract or do not receive their ZIM PIN when they sign their contract can obtain their ZIM PIN in one of two ways:
- In person: pick it up at the ZIM user support upon presentation of your ID.
- Online form: Applying for a ZIM PIN using the form to apply for a new ZIM PIN. The ZIM PIN will then be sent by internal mail to the respective faculty.
No account was created for me / I need my account earlier
If the account was not created automatically or if early use of the account is necessary, your supervisor can apply for it via the online account application.
Can I extend my account?
An extension of the account beyond the employment relationship is only possible if official duties at the University of Wuppertal (BUW) continue to be performed that require mandatory access to the ZIM services.
In this case, we ask for a list of the official tasks at the BUW and the ZIM services required for them so that an authorisation can be checked in accordance with § 3 para. 1 sentence 5 of the VBO.
The extension must be applied for by the supervisor via the online account application and justified accordingly.
