Information
Please note that activations and changes only update every 10 minutes.
All users need their current ZIM-PIN to change the password.
Students
Students can find their ZIM-PIN in their matriculation letter they receive at the beginning of their studies via mail from the students office after officially enrolling.
If the ZIM-PIN should get lost somehow, students can always get a new one at the students office/student service centre.
Employees
Employees receive their ZIM-PIN upon contract signing at the staff department.
Employees who don't show up at the contract signing at the staff department or those who didn't get a ZIM-PIN during the contract signing can get their ZIM-PIN at the user support of the ZIM upon presenting an ID or passport.
Employees who aren't able to pick up their ZIM-PIN personally have to authorise someone to get it for them, for which an authorising letter and ID are required.
If you lost your ZIM-PIN, you can get a new ZIM-PIN on presentation of an ID at the User Support or you can use our online application for a new ZIM-PIN to receive a new ZIM-PIN via internal mail.
Employees who are simultaneously enrolled as students
New employees who are also matriculated as students, e.g. student assistants, will get another account with employee status in addition to their student account.
The ZIM-PIN used for the student account will automatically also be valid for the employee account. In this case student or research assistants will receive a new ZIM-PIN at the students office.
Please note that the new ZIM-PIN eventually only becomes valid for the assistant account the next day.
