Accounts for Students

Student members of the BUW immediately recreive a ZIM account without any aplication, just by matriculation. This account includes a mail box. Students simply have to initialise the account by themselves.

For activation a personal ZIM-PIN is necessary, which usually will be sent from the student office via mail.

The account enables any work at the Internet-Cafe. Furthermore, access is possible for host students and foreign students within the Erasmus-Programme as well.

s-matriculation accounts

Students who are employed as SHK or WHK at the University of Wuppertal must be able to access additional internal resources - for example, if they are required to edit the websites of chairs.

It is possible to activate a so-called s-Matrikel account for the duration of your employment contract with the University of Wuppertal. This is structured as follows:

s[matriculation number]

The matriculation number 1231231 results in the s-matriculation account s1231231.

This must be activated. Activation takes place in the same way as for all other accounts. Call up the Account activation page. Click on Password Change/Password Activation and enter your s-Matrikel account as the login name in the pop-up window.

Confirm the assignment to your existing student account by entering your ZIM PIN and assign a password. The account is now activated and will be automatically deactivated when your employment contract as a SHK or WHK ends.
